data request files invalid
Hello all,
We recently received a data request from one of our users. I wasn't aware this was an option so I'm learning about it for the first time. I read this Data Privacy article on Moodle.org and added a category and purpose to our data privacy settings. However, when I submit a test data request from my student account and approve it as the administrator, I receive a download link that gives me a .zip file that I can't extract. I see that the zip has data in it (9.7KB) but Microsoft gives me an error saying "the compressed folder is invalid" when I try to extract. Any thoughts?

Dear Katherine,
(Happy New Year's!)
The Data Privacy features are designed to respond to users' privacy requests including data download or deletion — also known as "right to be forgotten". These allow you to comply with existing regulation including GDPR and Connecticut's Data Privacy Act, as well as any additional considerations your institution put in place.
Which application did you use to unzip the folder? In the page that you shared there is the following notice:
Note: Users on Windows computers are advised to use a program such as 7zip to extract their data from the downloaded folder, as the standard Windows unzipping feature will display an error message.
Please let me know if this works for you, or if you would like me to turn this into a support ticket so we can look deeper into it!
Kind regards,
