AI Technology & Open LMS: Our Plans for the Future
At Open LMS, we’re committed to supporting innovation and improvement in teaching and learning in a careful, practical manner that drives better outcomes without adding additional complexity or risk to our client’s environments.
Artificial Intelligence innovation continues to advance at an accelerating pace. It’s sure to impact corporate and higher education in both positive and challenging ways. We want to engage with you and keep you up to date on our plans and progress.
Join One of Our Discovery Sessions
First, we invite you to an open discussion about the potential impact of AI and to carefully listen to your ideas on how to ensure we generate a positive impact. We’re hosting two upcoming listening sessions to hear directly from you how we might be most effective and helpful introducing this new technology:
- Thursday May 4th, 12pm EDT
- Thursday May 4th, 6pm EDT
Pick the time slot that works for you via this sign-up sheet. Each session is limited to 10 guests. If you’re not one of the first ones to sign up, know that we’ll have plenty of opportunities for additional feedback.
AI Tools to Help You
Open LMS is also evaluating how we might improve our products and service levels via AI.
Our Product Management team is already evaluating ways to utilize AI tools to enhance teaching and learning. We’ll ensure that any innovations we deliver add value to teaching and learning, and are integrated in a way that complements and enhances the interaction of learners and teachers.
We’ve taken the first steps to help you mitigate some of AI’s challenges to academic integrity by adding Copyleaks Plagiarism Detector (available April 20th) to our portfolio. Copyleaks adds advanced AI detection to its already powerful plagiarism detection tools. It can:
- Detect AI-generated content, including ChatGPT4
- Detect multiple forms of paraphrasing
- Perform image-based text plagiarism detection
- Expose attempts to deceive detection software
- Detect plagiarism in source code
Our Customer Support organization is investigating how AI might allow our support representatives to provide superior service by improving our responsiveness and reducing the time required to find an answer amidst our technical and knowledge base content.
