Open LMS highlight for 5.1 MP1
New Snap login page design and navigation options — Site administrators can now choose a third login page template, Stylish Inverse, which mirrors the existing Stylish layout with the login form and image positions swapped. Admins can also independently show or hide the navigation bar and footer on the login page, making it easier to match the page to their institution's branding.

Snap Tenants: Per-Tenant Branding for Snap (Experimental)
Snap is Open LMS's own signature theme, built to give every client a unique, intuitive experience. With Snap Tenants — a child theme of Snap built specifically for multi-tenancy — that same Snap experience is now available to every Multi-Tenancy client as an experimental, opt-in theme option.
- Same Snap experience: Snap Tenants is linked to Snap, not a fork, so it inherits every Snap update automatically.
- Now available: Multi-Tenancy clients get it as a new theme choice, alongside existing ones.

|
Site administrators can manage branding for every tenant; tenant admins can manage branding for their own tenant only, without seeing or affecting any other tenant on the site. This is an experimental beta release, covering a defined first wave of settings — all clients running Multi-Tenancy are welcome to turn it on and try it out.
- Per-tenant images: logo, compact logo (shown in collapsed/mobile navigation), favicon, background image, and login page background image.
- Per-tenant colors: brand color, navigation bar background and text color, custom menu text color, and My Courses button background and text color — entered as hex codes (e.g. #F00 or #FF0000).
- Advanced: two raw SCSS fields (one applied before the main stylesheet, one after) for administrators who need finer-grained control. This is gated behind a separate permission from the rest of branding, so most tenant admins won't see it even if they can edit everything else on the page.
- Changes take effect automatically as soon as they're saved — there's no separate publish or rebuild step. Updates appear for that tenant's users on their next page load, including the sign-in page for visitors who haven't logged in yet.
- Snap Tenants requires Multi-Tenancy to be enabled on the site, Snap Tenants selected as the site theme, and the feature turned on for your environment by Open LMS — please raise a support ticket to request enablement.
> Switching a tenant away from Snap Tenants to another multi-tenancy theme carries over only the logo and compact logo; all other per-tenant styling (brand color, favicon, background images, navigation colors, and raw SCSS) is specific to Snap Tenants and must be re-entered if the tenant returns to it later.
> If a tenant has no login background image set, and the site has no site-wide login background configured either, that tenant's sign-in page shows a plain color or image rather than Snap's default.

Additional Fixes and Minor Improvements
Security
- Security: Updated the WirisQuizzes plugin to version 4.19.4 to resolve a security vulnerability identified by Wiris.
Payments & Integrations
- Fixed an issue where unlogged-in (guest) users attempting to purchase a product through the Flywire payment integration would encounter an account-creation error at checkout. Guest checkout via Flywire is now disabled for unlogged-in users to prevent this error; these users will need to log in or create an account to complete a purchase.
Account & Licensing
- Fixed an issue where monthly flex-seat usage data could permanently miss a date if it was briefly unavailable from the source system and only became available afterward; the sync now picks up dates that are backfilled after the fact.
Reporting
- Fixed an issue where the Forum Summary report could not be downloaded in CSV, JSON, ODS, or HTML format. Downloads in XLSX and PDF format were unaffected.
Course Management
- Fixed an issue where duplicating a Quiz activity did not copy its configured extra restrictions on attempts, causing the duplicate to reset to default values.
- Fixed an issue where the activity options dropdown menu could render behind the course administration sidebar panel, cutting off its contents.
- Fixed an issue where restoring a course backup containing Questionnaire activity data from version 4.5 could fail.
- Added support for filtering by custom user profile field type in the Taxonomy menu.
Content & Editor
- Fixed an issue where the @mention tagging feature would have stopped working after Moodle™ core removed the Atto editor; the feature has been migrated to the Tiny editor to preserve functionality.
Assessment & Personalized Learning Designer
- Fixed an issue where Personalized Learning Designer event rules incorrectly allowed "Question bank" and individual question types to be selected as triggering activities, even though they cannot generate a "viewed" event.
- Fixed an issue where the correct-answer checkboxes in Multiple Choice Set questions were not visible against their background when selected.
Programs & Certifications
- Fixed several rendering issues affecting Programs components in the Snap theme, including layout, completion-tag visibility, course card spacing, and navigation button coloring.
- Fixed an issue where the certificate-issued notification subject line did not appear in French or French Canadian, even when the correct translation existed.
Snap Theme
- Fixed an issue where the activity settings (cog) menu could appear cut off at the top of the page when first landing on a course using the Tiles or Custom sections course format, until the page was scrolled.
- Fixed an issue where the grouping name did not appear on activity cards for activities restricted to a specific group or grouping.
- Fixed an issue where the message drawer would not allow selecting the message container to add or type a message in forums and messaging.
- Fixed layout issues with the Sharing Cart block and restored consistent placement of the "Copy to Sharing Cart" action.
- Fixed an issue where dragging an image onto its dropzone in "Drag and drop onto image" quiz questions caused the image to disappear, replaced by a blank square.
- Fixed an issue where the right-hand navigation sidebar lost its solid background and rendered as translucent across several views.
Boost Theme
- Fixed an issue where the "New" tag on unread Open Forum replies displayed as "Ne" due to text truncation.
Mobile
- Fixed an issue affecting how embedded YouTube videos in course content passed referral information within the Open LMS mobile app.
