Open LMS Branding Guide

Overview

Open LMS provides flexible theming capabilities that allow organizations to align the platform with their brand identity while maintaining usability, accessibility, and system performance.

This guide outlines the available branding options, required assets, and best practices to ensure a consistent and accessible user experience across your platform.

Providing the materials listed in this document will help our team implement your branding efficiently and accurately.

Customization Capabilities

Open LMS allows several visual elements of the platform to be customized to reflect your organization’s brand identity.

The following elements can be configured:

  • Logo
  • Favicon
  • Primary and secondary brand colors
  • Typography
  • Custom CSS (optional)
  • Images and visual assets
  • Navigation and layout alignment
  • Social media links

Branding Assets Required

To ensure a consistent and accurate implementation of your brand identity, please provide the following assets.

Logo

Your organization’s primary logo will be displayed in the platform header.

Recommended specifications

Accepted formats

Maximum height: 76px

Please be sure the logo works well on both light and dark backgrounds.

Favicon

The favicon appears in the browser tab and bookmarks.

Footer Content

The Snap theme allows custom information to be displayed in the footer.

Please provide the content you would like included, such as:

  • Organization name
  • Copyright information
  • Additional links or notices

Typography

To maintain visual consistency and optimal performance, we recommend using a maximum of two font families.

Please specify:

  • Heading font (for titles and headings)
  • Body font (for paragraphs and general content)

If the selected fonts are not standard web fonts, please provide the font files or links.

 

Brand Colors

Please provide your organization’s branding colors to be used throughout the platform.

Recommended color roles include:

  • Primary color
  • Secondary color
  • Accent color

Additional optional color specifications:

  • Button colors
  • Font/text colors
  • Icon colors
  • Navigation bar color
  • Neutral or gray tones used in your design system

Accessibility Considerations

To maintain accessibility standards, all color selections must comply with WCAG AA color contrast guidelines.

This ensures that text and interface elements remain readable for all users.

We recommend selecting color combinations that provide sufficient contrast between foreground and background elements.

Image Guidelines

The Snap theme supports multiple image areas across the platform. The following specifications ensure optimal visual quality.

Cover Image

The cover image is displayed prominently on the homepage.

Recommended size

Accepted formats

1200 × 600 px or larger
* Use a Landscape orientation

Carousel Images (Optional)

If using a carousel layout on the homepage, please provide:

  • Up to three (3) images
  • Size: 1200 × 600 px

Please also indicate if a text overlays should appear on these images.

Feature spots highlight key sections or actions on the homepage.

Course Images

Course images appear within the course catalog and in the course header.

Recommended size

1200 × 250 px

 

Login Page Customization

The login page can be visually customized to align with your brand.

Please provide the following preferences:

Alignment of the login form

Login background image

  • Left
  • Center
  • Right

Recommended ratio: 3:2

Suggested size: 1920 × 1280 px

 

Social Media Links

If you would like social media links displayed on your platform, please provide the relevant URLs.

Supported platforms include:

  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • TikTok

Branding Reference Materials

To ensure the most accurate representation of your brand, please also provide one of the following:

  • Your official branding or style guide, or
  • A marketing website or page that represents the visual style you would like the platform to follow

These references help maintain visual consistency between your learning platform and your broader digital presence.

All branding customizations are reviewed to ensure:
