Open LMS Instructor-Led Training
Our Open LMS Instructor-Led Training feature is now available, making it easier to integrate instructor-led sessions into your LMS to support blended learning approaches.
Key Functionalities Available:
Multiple Instances & Tracks
- Add multiple instances of the plugin to a course page
- Create multiple “tracks” within each instance
- Set up multiple dates/sessions within each track
Capacity Management
- Define session/track capacity based on room/location availability
Role & Permission Control
- Manage custom fields based on context (e.g., tenant-specific values)
- Assign roles and permissions (not limited to full admins)
- Enable context-aware user assignment with enrollment validation
- Ensure assigned users have valid course enrollments
Completion & Attendance Tracking
- Configure completion criteria per track
- Track attendance for individual sessions
User Registration & Notifications
- Email confirmation & calendar invite for track registration
- Configurable messaging with rich text support for available notifications
- Notifications on bookings, training tracks and sessions.
Starting in version 4.1, Open LMS plans to enable this feature by default on new sites. In the long term, this feature will replace the Face-to-Face module. For clients who want to start using it, a migration tool is available to convert Face-to-Face activities into ILDET activities.
New option in Training frameworks to limit valid completions to a specific category
This new option allows you to associate a framework with a specific course category, ensuring that only courses within that category count toward the completion of the framework.
Enabling this feature simplifies management for organizations with overlapping timeframes for programs or certifications, providing better control over which courses contribute to each framework.

New Payment Gateways in eCommerce
Our eCommerce solution now supports two additional payment gateways: PayPal and Authorize.net. These new options provide greater flexibility for processing transactions, enhancing the payment experience for both administrators and end users.
